Name: Mi’an
Pronunciation: (Me-an)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Turnday: 1.15.3051
Weyr: RMW
Rank: Crimson Rider
Family:
StarCrafter Mirlana- 42 –Mother
Master Beastcrafter Eridian- 45 – Father
Eriana- 2 - Sister
Weyrmate: None
Friends: Few to none, thanks to Kronikoth
Pets: None
Appearance: Mi’an stands at a scant 5’4”, but unless you were standing next to him, you’d never be able to tell. He hold himself with dignity and pride, giving off an air of authority and confidence that makes him look bigger than he really is. He has broad shoulders and a muscular frame to lend weight to this illusion. His skin is medium tan in color, but he has a spattering of freckles in warmer as an attribute to his mother’s blood running his veins.
Mi’an’s eyes are plain brown; as in solid, dirt brown. There are no patterns or other specks or color in the iris. Just brown, like someone molded them from clay and placed them there and then set the pupil in the center. His hair though, that is another story. Kept long, is several shades of brown, going almost blond in the lightest highlights and reaching the color of mahogany in the darkest places. It is usually kept back in a braid to keep it from blowing in his face while riding.
Mi’an can usually be seen wearing leather vests or jackets, depending on the weather, and pants that are made to fit him comfortably. The leather will be either natural brown or died to match his dragon’s hide and sometimes tooled with intricate designs, though usually plain.
Personality: Mi’an is a no-nonsense individual. If there’s a job to be done, he expects it to get done and without whining and moaning. If there is a problem, Mi’an looks for a solution rather than getting worked up over it. Many say it is this very attitude that drew Kronikoth to him in the first place. Of course, it could just as easily have been his tendency to step up and take charge, sometimes even if it means stepping on another’s toes.
That is not to say that he intentionally does so, but it is natural for to calmly start directing people without worrying about what other people will say about it, especially in a crisis. His nearly unshakable calm helps with this.
Despite his no-nonsense attitude, Mi’an does have a sense of humor hidden somewhere in there. Many find it odd and his jokes are usually terrible, but he tries.
History: Mi’an grew up herding beasts in Stormy Plains with his father by day and gazing at the stars by night with his mother. He learned much from both of them and appreciated the trades. He might have even been happy herding beasts like his father, but he would have always felt that something was missing and he would’ve always wished to touch the sky.
From the time he was little, Mi’an, Miridian then, dreamed of flying with the dragons. No, not riding a dragon, but flying with them. Of course he realized that was a silly child’s imagination as he grew, but that didn’t keep him from wanting to touch the sky. It didn’t seem this would ever happen for him though.
Miridian always ran when the Searchriders visited the hold, but he was always looked over. Ten, eleven, twelve… Too young, he’d hoped when they passed him up then. By thirteen he took up an apprenticeship with another Beast-Master, though he still held hope that the ‘rider would choose him one day. By fourteen he looked on with a slight bitterness, and continued his work while other boys were chosen for the sands of Rainbow Mists and by fifteen he’d given up hope nearly entirely.
It was eighteen that Miridian was finally noticed. He was well along in his apprenticeship and he’d been trading beasts for his Master with his father. New blood was needed in the herd to keep them healthy. The searchrider showed up just as he was preparing to leave. He paid no heed to them, knowing he’d be passed over again, until the dragon itself spoke to him to get his attention.
He stood for the next hatching to take place on Rainbow Mists’s sands and there Impressed Kronikoth. Like with any rider, life became caring for Kronikoth, Lessons, Drills, and Chores. Then Chores became Duties and Lessons became Meetings. His Parents introduced him to his new sister a nearly a turn later.
Adoption?: No, and that goes for all my characters. Though, you can use them as NPC’s for plots if I’m on LOA or just disappear for a long time.
Dragon's Name: Kronikoth
Dragon’s Gender: Male
Dragon's Age: 4 turns
Dragon's Color: Crimson
Dragon's Appearance: The perfect specimen of his color, Kronikoth is uniformly blood red in color. His body is not so perfect as his coloring, though. His wings are slightly larger than most of his color, though it is really only noticeable in flight. The extra bit of wing allows him to cup more air and thus propel himself more quickly through the air.
Kronikoth seems to be slender and bulky at the same time. Much like his rider, this is an illusion created by the shape of his body. He is not quite as bulky as some of his color, but he would not classify as slender, falling in at a medium weight. His muscles are well built and toned. His tail is slightly longer than normal as well, to compensate for the wing size, which makes it dangerous when lashing back and forth with his emotions. Kronikoth is slightly larger than normal at about 42 feet.
Dragon's Personality: Kronikoth has a quick temper, being the very definition of “short fuse” and he is very slow to forgive. The best advice one can receive concerning Kronikoth is don’t make him mad… especially if you want to get anywhere near his rider.
He is also generally waspish even if you haven’t triggered his unforgiving temper and at least snappish on good days to anyone but his rider, who is the only one who actually receives a kind word from him now and again. (Queens being an exception.)
Over all, Kronikoth doesn’t like others very much and doesn’t see the need for friends. That’s not to say no one can get close to him, but just that it won’t be easy and they would have to accept him temper and all.
Dragon's History: Kronikoth was the third egg hatched of Bylanath’s thired to last clutch and the first ‘King’. He was also the first to Impress that clutch. He has yet to chase a female because he has found none worthy.
