Early Afternoon
Fair and windy
The turn was rapidly coming to a close but that meant there was still time for some fun and games. The wind was blowing around Rainbow Mists Weyr, perhaps perfectly in time with the idea of afternoon races. Predictably the Jr Weyrleader was right smack dab in the middle of it all. R'le was standing near a table checking in participants. Quiorith, close to all the excitement, looked like he would just burst if he had to wait too long. Races and fun! The Cloud lived for it all!
The mischievous wind puffed some of R’le’s papers around and he tried to keep them handled with a laugh and a grin. Today was going to be interesting, since the weather had decided to make things a little more challenging. But that would be half the fun. Using the wind or merely working around it, it should be a challenge. Because what was a race without a little bit of difficulty?
R’le couldn’t wait for it all to start. He wasn’t actually racing today, he was announcing. Quiorith, bless his soul, had agreed to be R’le’s eye in the sky for his play by play. As he finished the checking in he looked around at the riders and dragons that were around, along with the weyrfolk that had gathered to watch.
“Feel free to get into positon guys! We’re going to start the race soon!” Quiorith nearly bounced straight into the air at that, taking off to watch the race from the sky. R’le couldn’t stop the laugh that bubbled up from that. He hoped he didn’t have to remind Quiorith that he wasn’t actually participating. But it looked like this little cloudy day friend would have fun anyway.
