78.13.05 | weyr of Slinesteth and Niekolgoth et al.
Dav had been planning this since winter had begun. Despite all the war and stress and covert operations that left T'vax exhausted and bruised and Dav in not much better condition, she had decided that it would be a good idea to remind her closest friend and love of her life that even in the midst of seriousness and turmoil that fun was allowed and encouraged. To that affect she'd woken up extra early and slipped out of bed, shushing Ribbon and Blizzard and calming their small fair. Turning to survey the absolute madness that their sleeping furs turned into each night, Dav couldn't help but smile. Every bit as pale as she was dark, Tiv sprawled beneath the furs. Ignoring the chill that crept up her bare legs, Dav hunkered into her sleeping shirts--one of Tiv's worn out ones from a turn or so ago--and simply observed for several seconds. Blizzard slipped into her spot, sprawling in the warm depression she'd left. Ribbon was curled at the end of the bed where Dav's feet had been and a mess of firelizards were scattered throughout. This was her life and it was perfect.
Forcing herself away from the bed before she caved and crawled back in, Dav hurried to get dressed and bundled up appropriately. There was much to do before she could wake her man. Eager and more than a little giddy at the thought, she shoved her hands into gloves and scurried out onto their ledge where a fresh layer of snow had formed. She'd gotten the boys to promise not to sweep it away as it fell over night. After tucking her scarf more securely around her neck, Dav began to pack several snowballs. Once they were packed she began to stack them into two piles. Given that Slinesteth was so large and the ledge was more than enough to accommodate him, it would be plenty big enough to serve her purpose. An hour or two later she'd created two generous piles of snowballs and built up little walls of snow in front of each to serve as cover.
Pleased with her work, she went to go back inside. It was time for phase two. With an impish grin pulling at her lips, she moved toward the sleeping dragons and patted them both on the nose. Niekolgoth parted an eye a crack and grunted, duly informed that chaos was about to break loose. If he wasn't so tired, he'd be just as eager as his rider. Rumbling gently, he shifted his head so he could keep an eye on the ledge. Meanwhile Dav crept back into the sleeping alcove, her boots leaving puddles in her wake as she shifted the snowball between her gloved hands. Sucking in both lips and capturing them between her teeth to keep from giggling, her eyes scrunched up with glee as she bounced on her toes before pulling her arm back. "TIV COME QUICK!!!" She let out a shout and just as Tiv began to move, she launched her cold projectile and with a squeal, turned and fled sending the entire company into an uproar of barking and screeching and no doubt shouting.
