Appearance: Height 5'2" Build: Slim but solid
Short and mighty, don't let her size fool you just because she's short, doesn't mean she lacks that feisty fire. Built strong and sturdy, the lass is well muscled but does not lack that feminine curve to her frame. Niylah stands around 5'2", she uses it to her advantage and is very lithe, agile and graceful.
Her facial features are soft and lovely, eyes the color of dark honey lined with dark lashes below thicker dark brows, both of which raise when curious, leaving thought lines in her forehead. Niylah's hair falls just below her shoulder blades when let loose, though she mostly wears it braided in a runners tail straight down her back. As far as complexion, some might call the shade of her skin pale in comparison to others, but it does have just a touch of olive to it, which really stands out in the warmer months. Her hands resemble those of an average working being, calloused and rough yet somehow still gentle enough for more 'womanly' tasks. She takes pride in being well put together, carrying herself with grace and purpose and almost never letting herself look a mess regardless of the situation at hand.

Alcohol, of course | Isn't it almost part of the craft? To be a vinter you have to enjoy the fruits of your labor, right? Niylah is incredibly picky about alcohol and has a taste for fine fermented drinks of all sorts. If you need someone to help you pick out a good drink, she's your gal!
Exploring | The wild side of the woman, she enjoys being able to explore and seeks out new adventures whenever the time is right. Fresh air and a warm breeze are two things she always searches for. Granted, crafting takes much time from exploring..so when she has free time to spend, she is often spending it out in the open taking the world in.
Learning | She loves to learn new things, things you wouldn't think she'd know..Niylah likes to have answers. Maybe she just likes to sound smart, but who doesn't like to know what they're talking about?
Creatures | of all shapes and sizes, Niylah loves all creatures (mostly non human, babies are cute but..they're needy). From the littlest firelizard to the biggest dragon, the lass has a strong yearning for the comfort of creatures beyond humans. She's never met a creature she didn't like. Often times she wonders why she couldn't have ended up in beastcraft, and often envies those who are a part of it.
DISLIKES:
Foul Weather | A child of the sun if there ever was one, Niylah lives for warm weather and sunshine. Her day is automatically better when the warmth of the sun kisses her skin, instant mood changer. She does admit, she enjoys the occasional storm and the strength of nature itself..
Being told what to do | Who likes this anyway? She won't go about doing whatever she's been told to with a grin on her face, though she will get the task done as timely as possible. Niylah would prefer to do things at her own pace and not have others breathe down her back while doing so. Not like it often happens that way..but it's a nice break from the norm..
Being told 'no' | Along with being told what to do..being told she can't do something or can't have something is often grounds for her to prove someone wrong. She doesn't like being underestimated.
STRENGTHS:
Outgoing | Niylah loves people, she loves to lend a helping hand where it's needed and she just wants to feel like she's needed. So she places that want in the hands of other people by providing as much of her own self to others as possible. She tries hard to befriend those without many.
Hardworking | There's a time for rest and a time where you need to work your ass off, and there's a fine line between the two. Until she's ultimately exhausted, Niylah will work either until the job is done or until she's satisfied that it can be done with just a few tweaks. She doesn't give up when the going gets tough, she gets tougher, she presses on, and she makes it work.
Brave | She'll jump head first into something without thinking of any cons involved with it. Den full of lions? Lemme barge right in. She's not scared of much, she'll fight her fight and yours too.
Feisty | Boy has she got an attitude to boot, she's sarcastic, she's full of spunk and fire. Maybe it's courage or maybe it's the sheer stupidity of her youth. But she's got that kind of spirit that you can't just drown out.
WEAKNESSES:
Selfish | It comes from being hurt, or maybe it just comes from wanting whats best for yourself and not others. She is not intentionally selfish, but some ways she acts out shows much differently.
Bossy | From a working standpoint, she is often found mouthing off and telling everyone what to do. How to do it efficiently, how to do it right, and why it should be done her way and not yours. She often doesn't realize she's being bossy, if you tell her to pipe down she'll often get off her soap box and return to work.
Cocky | Anything you can do I can do better...it's a horrible mentality to have, honestly, and probably one of her biggest flaws. But she'll go off on an hour banter to make sure you know why she's the best at it and why you've got to come second. And as we all know, no one is perfect, but there's some times where Niylah just won't give up thinking she is. Ultimately it's a horrible flaw and may lead to a breakdown eventually..someone has to put her in her place.
Hardheaded | This goes with hard working, where she won't give up until she's sure it's done to the best of her ability. She doesn't back down from anything, and in the chance she would..it is for good reason.
DREAMS:
To become a Dragonrider | Is there anyone out there who doesn't dream this, honestly? From a young age, from the first time she can remember seeing a dragon, Niylah has been borderline obsessed with the idea of becoming a dragonrider. It would fulfill a want in her, to be successful and happy, to not only further herself in her craft but push herself to be a great companion to a magnificent beast like that.
Happiness | True happiness, not sappy romance novel stuff, yanno? Niylah wants to wake up everyday feeling a sense of purpose greater than anyone has ever felt. To wake up and know you're needed by someone, or something, to better their days is far greater than waking up and just going to work immediately. So whether this comes to her in the form of a dragon, love, or even somehow a child..it's her biggest dream to be happy.
Success | She wants her name to be one known for fine wine and spirits, when you pull a bottle from the shelf you're looking for something crafted by her own hands. It's a pipe dream at the most, honestly. But it's something she's dreamed about since her early apprentice days.
FEARS:
Being Alone | This is the main reason she found companionship in firelizards, because she truly hates being alone. Someone to talk to, bounce her ideas off of. Someone to turn to in good times and bad, she wants to have /someone/ friend, creature, what have you. She fears being without companionship.
Not finding a purpose | What was I put here for? Is often a question she asks herself. Why am I here and what is my purpose in life? Niylah fears not finding the answers.
Bugs | Does this even need explaining? They're creepy and crawly and she'd just rather not.
History:
From a very young age, she can't recall just how young..but her first memorable glimpse of a dragon spoke more about her future to her than anything else did. Both of her parents, dragonriders, and her very favorite to be around was her fathers blue. That's much of what fills that first memory, a flash of blue hide flying over, and Niylah wishing she could grow wings and do just the same.
Her family was forever busy in the vinter craft, her mother well on her way as a journeyman and her father as close to a master as he'd ever been before. Two children close in age didn't slow them down one bit, once Niylah was born it didn't take them long to figure out they wanted her to have a sibling. Anything to keep the forever curious girl out of trouble.
Niylah and her brother were always close, thick as thieves, and when she became of age to join the vinter craft he was lost without her. She worked hard to prove herself in the craft, doing as much reading and studying in her down time as possible..this didn't leave a lot of room for her brother. A couple years passed, and he decided he wasn't going to join the vinter craft like the rest of his family had, and he dove head first into beast crafting and it was like that's what he was born to do.
It seemed like the turns passed quickly, and Niylah was soon on her way to the title of journeyman, but her heart ached for something more than this. To congratulate her, her father presented her with a firelizard egg. Niylah was over joyed with the gift and swiftly threw her arms around her father, tears rolling down her face. It was the most thoughtful gift she could've received. And she wouldn't have to face the next stage of her life alone as she'd decided it was due time that she made her way to become a candidate.
She's stood on the sands unsuccessful for a few turns now, making new friends each turn around. Niylah is ever eager to impress and she'll just have to wait and see what life holds for her.
