Appearance: Vieriel’s appearance reflects the boy’s attitude on life, casual and carefree. His dark hair can usually be seen swept back out of his eyes due to his unkept fringe having a habit of falling in his face if left to its own devices. Deep brown eyes curve slightly curve upward making him look as if he always has a faint smile, though this is already usually the case. These features are coupled with his olive skin, pricked with the rare freckle from working outdoors most his life, as well as a lithe figure with lean muscles from his experience with runnerbeasts and periodic hunting trips with his brothers. Despite a smaller stature at around 5’7”, though he always jokes about just being a late bloomer, he appears taller due to his long legs.
His iconic feature though is a chipped canine gained during a particularly bad runnerbeast accident when he was 10 turns old. The chip was small and barely affects his daily life especially with how old it is, but it has left a tiny fang like tooth in its wake. His tiny fang can be seen when he flashes his signature sheepish grin though normally it is hidden behind his lazy half smile that he wears almost religiously.
Attire wise he usually is dressed modest due to the cold. A key part of his attire is an earing on his left ear that is a thin but long hang down earring made of copper with a line of turquoise pigment painted on it. In Peashi culture ornamentation is celebrated and many times used for social purposes such as insular family units tend to each have a piece of a matching jewelry set. His oldest brother has the other earring, his other brother has a bracelet and his mother owns the necklace. His earring is one of his most prized possessions and his never seen without it.
Personality: A carefree and friendly boy who lacks all form of formal decorum thanks to his upbringing in a more insular community. He has a habit of keeping a casual tone and manor with most people for better or worst cracking jokes and lightly teasing. The kind of guy to take things as they come and generally lacks foresight into a situation not because he is incapable but due to general laziness and lack of desire. This causes him to have little to no tact when speaking to others and alongside his honest to a fault nature these traits have solidified his sheepish grin as his signature look. Even though his quips and tendency to point out inconsistencies are usually well meaning he shoves his foot in his mouth on the regular.
Slow to act and even slower to take up meaningful responsibility Vieriel would rather play a foil or a support than be the main actor of the stage finding the limelight too stressful for his laid back tendencies. Finding a softly beam of light to nap under or go explore the area on a runnerbeast he can come off as flighty and unfocused but when he’s set his mind to a task he becomes extremely sincere or stubborn, depending on who you ask, and will see it through to the end even going to great lengths to reach his goal.
Tends to get along well with woman and younger males (upper mid 20’s max) but wilts around older men becoming noticeably stiffer and more prone to escaping off on his own to avoid interaction. His behavior stems from complex emotions originating from both his biological mother and father that he is not fully aware of yet and only time and maturity will tell how he will deal with it from here on out. On the flip side he admires maternal figures and naturally gravitates towards people who remind him of aunt and even his two older brothers out of familiarity.
History:
- Born with the blood of the nomadic Paeshi clan, a small yet marginally successful trade-based clan mainly operating out of the northern portion of the continent. A progeny produced out of Wedlock between a local flirt and a young Tatassa. When she learned she was pregnant the young girl was ecstatic assuming he would marry her and have a family together, but reality was far from her fantasies. He rejected her. Even going so far as to deny it was his child slandering her name as a loose woman who would sleep with anyone who would give her the time of day. Tatassa was heartbroken when she realized her lover never loved her quickly falling into a state she never was able to recover from.
- The heartbreak drove her to a mental breaking point and despite giving birth to Vieriel she refused to look at or even acknowledge him traumatized by his father’s betrayal. Unwanted Vieriel’s life could have taken a tragic turn from here out but fate had other things in store for the child.
- Due to strong familial traditions in the Peashis the newborn Vieriel was quickly scooped away from his despondent mother by his widowed aunt Sova. Spurred by the shared belief that the clan takes care of its own Sova took charge of her once nephew, now son and he was quickly integrated as a member of her insular family without question. Meanwhile his mother was entrusted to another family in the clan in hope of her recuperation.
- Due to this separation he never really knew his biological mother viewing his aunt has his mom and her two sons as his brothers and still acknowledge them as such to this day.
- As he grew up he was taught the various roles and duties members of the clan are expected to perform from caring for the clan’s runnerbeasts (which are highly valued and well breed over generations and thus considered one of if not the most valuable trade goods they have), to hunting, to managing the business side of the Paeshis trade industry.
- While he like most young Paeshis took quickly to runnerbeast riding and care he, many times, found himself saddled with assisting his aunt with the trade business due to his brothers preferring to hunt and perform the manual labor-based tasks. Unbothered by the situation he found it rather interesting being able to interact with many different people during transactions as well are grow extremely close to Sova, fostering a quiet yet deep admiration for his adoptive mother.
- Despite his general satisfaction with the situation at hand he couldn’t help but feel the idle days trickle away under the tempered sun, his unfed desire for the new and exciting unsated with the simple life as a hunter or trader. Or at least a part of him told himself this. But regardless of his exact reasoning he felt drawn to somewhere else somewhere new but he hadn’t the foggiest idea where. Yet.
- It wasn’t until one faithful day during a partially slow day in the Ice Caverns Hold did the 15 turn old Vieriel get his first glimpse of a dragon and from then on his sight has been filled with its glittering hide ever since. Entranced by the great unknown he started gathering as much information as he could from their clients asking stray questions between exchanges. What dragons were and just who could become a rider where common questions he’d pester his trade partners with regularly.
- It took some time but his mind was made up from the moment he was told anyone could in theory become a rider and with that he started preparing to finagle his way into a Candidate selection or at the very least find his own way to the Weyr. Though a few smart trades of goods and a high quality runnerbeast he had he found a one-way ticket to Ice Stone Weyr with the recommendation of a rider who was the relative of the man he sold the beast to.
- It was no surprise when his family found out about his plans did they try to deter him any way from gentle persuasion to much harsher threats but in the end when they realized he had already made up his mind his aunt made the choice to see him off as best she could rather let him face the outside world than lose a son she had gained 17 turns prior.
- With an emotional farewell and a promise that he has a home with them if needed he sent them one last sheepish grin before setting out toward an unpredictable future.
- Impressed to Starlight Ellatriath at Temperanth third Hatching.

Adoption?: Sure!
Name: Ellatriath (ill-at-tree-ath)
Color: Starlight #111233 #abaa93
Personality: This Starlight is an interesting creature. She hopes to improve the world but has no thoughts of her own on how to do that. To that end she collects those who have ideas, and is particular about improving them to a sparkling shine before working to produce results. Once the idea has been perfected she will go to great lengths to bring about the chosen vision of the future, even to the point of being ruthless. Those who have strong wills and dreams attract her, though she can seem aloof to those seeking a shallow friendship. To those that want something more than that, will find a surprisingly loyal friend, an ally that will stand with them to the end.
Like her Starlight sisters she has a high sense of self which stems not from her looks, though she would not deny she is beautiful as she feels it a given, but from her strong sense of purpose and vision. Her dream to improve the world keeps her mentality lofty quick to filter through ideas she could either deem worth her time or simple a waste of it. She many times pretends to keep an aloof persona trying to look important and garner respect from her peers, thanks to her pride, but it can occasionally be cracked with the promise of something that interests her.
While shes a big thinker she does not freely give her valuable effort and time asking for proofs and picking through those she has her eye on before plucking the diamond from the rough. Once her mind is set she goes full force engrossed in the task at hand until another perhaps something better reveals itself. At times she can seem tough on her 'chosen' few putting great amounts of expectation on them along side her scathingly honest critiques, despite its well meaning origins. It seems only V'riel can wiggle his way out of her quips easily laughing off her nitpicking with a joke or two.
