Los Angeles County prosecutors declined to file charges against Bill Cosby on Wednesday for sexually abusing two teenage girls in 1965 and 2008, citing the length of time since one of the alleged incidents and a lack of evidence. The decision comes nearly a week after the 78-year-old comedian was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004 inside Cosby's home near Philadelphia, the first criminal case brought against him amid the wave of accusations that They destroyed his positive image as “America's dad.” His lawyers have called the charges in that case unjustified and said they hoped Cosby would be exonerated. An email was sent to Cosby's lawyer Monique Pressley without an immediate response. Dozens of women have accused Cosby of sexual abuse or attempted abuse in incidents dating back in some cases more than four decades.
In Los Angeles County, the district attorney's office investigated allegations by a woman who claimed that Cosby forced her to have sex at a Hollywood Hills home in 1965 when she was 17 years old. According to the authorities, it was not possible to file charges for rape since the statute of limitations had expired. Also denied charges in the case was model Chloe Goins who claimed she attended a party at the Playboy Mansion in the summer of 2008, when she was 18, where Portugal WhatsApp Number ListCosby gave her and a friend drinks. Goins said she felt dizzy and sick so Cosby offered to take her to a room where she fell unconscious. The woman said she woke up naked. Authorities investigated after Goins met with detectives in January to detail his allegations. At the time, Cosby's attorney issued a statement in which he denied the allegations and said the comedian was not in Los Angeles at the time. Investigators discovered that Cosby was not listed as a guest at any 2008 events at the mansion, and a woman the alleged victim said could be a witness denied knowing her or being at the mansion, according to court documents. The documents also indicated that the deadline to charge Cosby with misdemeanor sexual assault and indecent exposure in the case had expired and that there was little or no evidence to support the more serious charges of sexual abuse.
Goins, who has sued Cosby, was the second woman to meet with Los Angeles detectives to accuse the comedian. Prosecutors previously declined to bring charges against Cosby following accusations by Judy Huth, who claimed in a lawsuit that the actor abused her at the Playboy mansion in the early 1970s when she was 15 years old. The comedian gave statements in that case in October. A judge ordered Cosby to also testify in a defamation case brought by model Janice Dickinson, who accuses Cosby of drugging and raping her in 1982 in Lake Tahoe, California.
