Again, this is just a general description; as for the ISW Plot I posted, all feedback is welcome.
Plot beginning:
The members of the organized crime rings of Stormy Plains have had enough of being found out and punished, they want their power back, and they want it NOW! Under the guidance of their most experienced members, they set out to betray and murder Lord Famoran, as well as his advisers and eldest son (Jatheiron).
Plot middle/twists:
Here's where the fun begins. The plan is discovered by at least one person (what they do with the information is entirely up to them). If no one is told, the plan proceeds apace. If Lord Famoran is warned, he immediately takes action to secure the safety of the other targets, then personally leads the hold guards after the planners. If Jatheiron is warned he would likely assume that his father knew as well, but might tell his father at a later date (free for interpretation/modification by a player). If the Warder is warned, he spreads the warning to the advisers and Lord Famoran. If a random relative of the informant is told (quite likely if informant is young, for instance) then they react according to their position -- note that most people are still very much afraid of the crime rings' power. If the plan is revealed, than eventually the Weyr hears about it, as a rider from Stormy Plains was visiting home and returns to tell the other dragonriders about it.
Other possibilities abound -- be creative.
Plot end:
If the plan succeeds completely, than the criminals find themselves in contention with the Lady Meralla (Lord Famoran's wife), however, they hold a much stronger position and will quickly regain their power unless outside help arrives to strengthen the crackdown.
If Lord Famoran dies, but Jatheiron lives, then the criminals find themselves faced with adversity (my suggestion would be complete extermination, but if Jatheiron is being played by someone, than the details of the "adversity" will be up to them. -- note that in the event of a partially successful coup, Jatheiron might survive but no longer be in a position of power (kidnapped, etc...).
If the plan fails, than the back-bone of the criminal resistance is broken. They will likely rise again, but not for a few years.
Needed Characters:
1. Leaders of the criminal coup (2+ slots, the more the merrier) -- possible brief bios here.
2. members of the crime rings (as many as desired, need at least 1) -- possible brief bios here.
3. Advisers to Lord Famoran (2+ slots).
4. Lord Famoran (if desired, otherwise will remain a true NPC for duration of plot) -- Please see bio.
5. Jatheiron (same as above, brief bio located here)
6. Citizens of Stormy Plains (as many as wished for, brief bios for some young adults can be found here).
7. A dragonrider from Stormy Plains.
