The day had been slow in the infirmary so far. No injuries.. No long term care patients... Nothing that strictly warranted the attention of a healer of any level really and especially not a Journeyman Healer... So Studying and tidying was about the only things he could do to keep from feeling utterly useless during his shift.
That is why Jerston ended up in the infirmary's store room, going over their stock of various medicines, herbs and supplies. Bandages had already been rolled and placed on the proper shelf in a basket that kept them from being knocked all over the place.
He tapped his pencil against his lip as he counted over the green glass jars of numbweed for the second time. "Getting low, Spark. We are going to have to get some made again soon." He said softly, making a note on the hide he'd been using for inventory.
The blue firelizard chittered as if he knew exactly what Jerston was saying and then wrapped himself over the back of the healer's neck, giving a contented squeak before falling to sleep.
Jerston laughed. "Yes. I understand the feeling. It's been that kind of day." He said fondly, scratching gently at the firelizard's eyeridges before going back to taking stock of the next item on the shelf.
T'lis walked into the infirmary. Why? He was going to see if there was anyone in need of some company. Make sure no one was in need of any of his assistance. Just because that was the kind of guy he was.
But the only person he saw was Jerston. But the boy deserved a little company and, maybe, something to do. He didn't particularly know the boy that well. He just knew his name. Time to make some conversation.
"Hey Jerston, how is your day treating you?" he said, hopefully not startling the boy as he came up behind him, grinning widely.
The DreamRider had a pretty bad habit of startling people when he came up to talk to them. Not that he meant to. Just the opposite. He scratched the back of his head slightly. "Anything you need any help with?"
Mine... Make sure you don't bother the boy, but if he has time, you should bring him to meet me. I like meeting new people! The Dream dragon rumbled happily.

The voice of another human caused Jerston to set down the jar he'd picked up, not bothering to read the label since he was just starting this item. He turned, expecting to see blood or something of the kind before the words registered in his mind and he let a smile touch his lips.
"Slow," He responded, glancing out to the empty cots in the infirmary, "Which in my line of work is a good thing." A shrug of his shoulder was meant to make it seem as if the lack of work didn't bother him, but the fact that he was doing an apprentice's job at the moment showed otherwise. He tilted his head to the side at the offer of help, and considered declining it. He didn't really need help.. but he knew having nothing to do could drive a person mad and he certainly wouldn't mind the company..
Er.. and if he were being completely honest, some of the higher shelves were hard for him to reach. "Just taking inventory at the moment and organizing things in here. The apprentices have it a mess.." Only not really.. just not as organized as he preferred, but he wasn't saying that.
T'lis laughed good-naturedly . "Well, even if slow is good, it still can be very boring." He walked over to the boy. He was much taller than the younger man. He grinned, looking at the shelves. "It looks like you've made quite a bit of progress already. When we're don here, would you like to meet Vicith? He is asking to meet you when you have the time."
He loved his dragon. "So, anyways. What would you like me to do?" He looked at the bottle on the table and read the label quickly before looking back up to the selves again. It seemed it was rather well stocked at the moment. "Is there anything we seem to be lacking in at the moment?"
He was very ADD. That was for sure. He went fro mone thing to another and back to it. But he was fun loving and kind of out there.
Don't mind Mine. He talks a lot. The dragon told the Candidate, his tone sounding slightly amused.
T'lis shrugged. "He's right. I do like to talk a lot." T'lis had a goofy grin on his face.

The topic shifts seem to happen seamlessly and if Jerston hadn't been paying attention to the rider he may have missed the invitation all together. He didn't though. He chose to start with the later questions first instead.
"We-" It was all he got out before nearly dropping the hide and pencil he'd been reaching over to show T'lis. His eyes were slightly wide. He had heard the words of a dragon in his head since Jerith... His fingers trembled as he caught the pencil back into his grip at the last moment, letting the hide slip to the floor. He swallowed back the urge to whisper the blue's name... He had been as dear to him as his father had, but he knew that the voice wasn't Jerith's.
T'lis's voice brought him back to the present and the task at hand and he managed a dry sound somewhere between a cough and a laugh before kneeling to retrieve the fallen hide. He was careful to make sure the wooden foot didn't swing out and hit something it should as he did so. Once the document was in hand he took a moment to compose himself once more and stood.
"Er.. It's not a problem.." He stumbled, unsure if it was appropriate to respond to Victh as he would have Jerith, "As I was saying.. We seem to be getting low on Numbweed and Fellis stores, though the latter are not critically so. If you can take stock of some of the higher shelves it would be useful.." He eyed the highest shelf and then shifted his gaze back to T'lis. "Just pull down the jars, read their labels and write the item along with how many of them you counted on the hide.." He instructed.
