Some Helpers [staff apps]

Hi folks. With college starting up again I have less time to do all of the staffy work and I need a couple helpers.

People I Need:

Ad Manager - Available
This is an "approx. high PG" board. While boards with higher "ratings" (more mature themes) can advertise here they cannot break forum code. This person would be responsible for reading over all the ads posted here to make sure they do not contain profanity, inappropriate images or explicitly mature themes in the ad.

Thread Archivist - Available
Someone who makes the forum neat and tidy. You would be responsible for moving RP and OoC threads into the appropriate archive area. Some threads do not get moved regardless of age (ex: stickied threads, about me threads), so some initial input is required to familiarize yourself with which threads to not archive that exceed the age limit.

Public Relations Representative - Available
Someone to update our ad, post it on sites that post on our site (and alert the Ad Manager if a site doesn't have an advertizing board. We don't allow ads from forums that lack this section). This person is also in charge of soliciting banner exchanges with other sites.

Forum Mod - Positions Filled
Someone to help me read all of the RP posts in a timely manner. I like to read them all, but as it is now sometimes it takes far too long to get time to read them. If a rule is broken I want the staff to know about it sooner rather than later. This person would be in charge of reading over RP posts and making sure they don't contain profanity, inappropriate images, or explicit mature content. This is a position that makes more judgement calls than others. If a situation is borderline or uncertain in relation to rules, I ask that this staff person would message me and lock the thread if necessary for the time being until the issue is resolved.

-Do you have previous staff experience? If yes, what did you do? Did you work directly with people?: Tons. I've moderated/produced on at least six different online games, as well as been moderator of three or four forums. Staff jobs included (but were not limited to): being super awesome, being in a high activity threshold, enforcing code of conduct and rules on those laem enough to break them, moderating post content as well as dealing with unwanted content, producing icon graphics for vidja games, and being loved by everybody.
-Are there additional responsibilities you think your position should have? I SHOULD BE KING OF PERN~!
-Describe what you would do if your position presented you with a subjective situation. Well, it has always been my credo that neutrality is the best policy, that is to say I'm rather opposed to placing my opinion above simple enforcement of those rules agreed to by the person whom is requiring punishment. I would never break a rule to enforce a rule, as well as never going outside of my boundaries of power to smite those whom might anger me.
-Would you be okay having a partner with a similar position help you? Not at all, it would make me more lazy about stuff but I'd still get stuff done. In the case of Forum Mod, I doubt I'd be up for reading the whole site.
-Why are you applying for this position? Because Kaya's call for help hath been answered! Also I figure I'm pretty experienced with stuff like this and I like helping mah Weyr *nodnod*

-How long have you RPed?: Verbally a lot longer but 8 online I guess? I’m a touch fuzzy about when I started.
-Do you have previous staff experience? If yes, what did you do? Did you work directly with people?: I’ve had a couple staff positions at a couple guilds. Reviewing profiles, calling out some broken rules, but not much with members outside of the profile stuff. Mostly those particular guilds wanted active staff to be examples for the rest of the guild.
-Are there additional responsibilities you think your position should have? It’s up to you really.
-Describe what you would do if your position presented you with a subjective situation. Subjective, well I suppose precedent would be checked first, that’s important. No precedent for either way then I guess I’d ask someone a touch higher up then me. Once its been established what one is supposed to do then, well, get it done.
-Would you be okay having a partner with a similar position help you? Sure, why not?

-What's your favorite thing about Rainbow Mists Weyr? Uh, I guess the fact we have awesome people that let us keep running this thing for so long? Or the non-cannon dragons? Or just the awesome people? Or everything?

Thanks for responding guys. One of the biggest jobs is being a mod. You're both long term members and certainly qualified.

Jay Kitten - I love your answer to the last question. It made me laugh and think of Hyperbole and a Half, which also makes me laugh. If you'd take on the roll of moderator, that would help me immensely. I'm adding you to the top-of-the-site credits.

Shoki - Do you have an About page? The rest of the staff does and it'd be kind of cool if you had one too. Do you have a position preference? I know Jay can't read all the posts on his own and neither can I on a typical busy forum time frame. I'd be glad to present you with the job you would most like to do.
