15.09.04 | Mid-Day | Weyrbowl |
Copper wings with faded ends stroked the air in what could only be described as a gentle glide. Hmph! Why are we coming back to this place today!? It would have been... more profitable to stay away longer. After all. The time on our own served us well... Wouldn't you agree, TalithiaMine? Hmm...?
Talithia did not respond and that seemed to irritate the copper who snorted. Then, finally, in a strong toned mental voice which seemed to have something of iron or steel to it. You know we must return today. You best not make trouble for the queen or your siblings anymore, Mae. That's right. I called you Mae. Be good.
The Copper snorted. She hated it. She was dignified. Queenly, now wasn't she!? And what is wrong with the name Maetioth that you see fit to shorten it? the copper said with a growl, which her rider could feel beneath her. Tal frowned and asserted her will over the Copper, which did not go well and the Copper tried to turn and assert her will over her rider.
"Maetioth! Enough! behave." She finally said it allowed, though her words whipped past her into the air as they started to plummet towards the Weyrbowl, Maetioths mouth agape with a growl as she attempted to scare all the little Weyrlings down there, earning herself what could be counted, more or less, as a slap from her rider, which sent her temper into a rage for a long moment, hissing and lashing her tail. "Enough." Was all Talithia said and the Copper seemed to barely contain herself.
We have returned as per request. Now may we have our new wing assignments, Archith? Oh... she was insolent. Oh she did not respect the queen. Not fully anyways. The nasty copper beast held grudges and she had some big ones... that fell against all golds... but she was mostly well behaved. Her rider did suppose at least.
Maetioth! Be respectful! The Copper turned her head toward her rider, a low hiss coming from between her jaws.
Why should I? She doesn't give me the respect that I deserve!
Talithia sighed. "You are not a queen." She could feel her copper seething beside her, but for once... she remained rather... quiet.
