Evaine
Name: Evaine
Pronunciation: (ee-vane)
Gender: Female
Age: 17 Turns
Turnday: 12th day of the 4th month in the 3056 turn
Romnatic Interests: ---
Weyr: Rainbow Mists Weyr
Rank: Weyrling
Family: Evaine grew up as the oldest child in her house; her father was a shepherd and her mother was a housewife who occasionally sold homemade jams and breads in town. She has one younger brother, a Harper-in-training by the name of Safir.
Friends: Evaine had a few close friends at her home at Melisong Hold, but for the most part, she keeps to herself, preferring those close friends and her own thoughts to socializing with the general public. She still keeps in touch with her best friend Taliesin at home - he and Evaine send letters biweekly.
Pets: Though Evaine lived on the outskirts of Melisong Hold and her father owned plenty of herdbeasts, she never had a pet of her own, nor does she plan to keep one; a dragon is enough for her!
Appearance: Evaine is a little taller than average height, standing somewhere around 5'8". She keeps her hair cropped short for convenience sake; it's short, shaggy and black, just like her father's. She's got a tiny athletic build of all lean muscle from working for years with her father in the fields. She's got wide shoulders, though, which seems out of place when paired with her flat chest. She's got a tiny nose, big grey eyes and thickly arched eyebrows. Her ears stick out a little more than they aught, though that might just be the short hair playing tricks on the eyes.
Personality: Evaine likes people. She just doesn't like dealing with them, you know, all the time. (They tend to be stupid or do stupid things.) But she does like talking to people and having intelligent conversations. She's aware of society's rules, so even though she has adamant views on the world, she knows how to keep her thoughts to herself. She keeps her hair short and her face free of paint for sense's sake, but she does like dressing nice. She likes both boys and girls when it comes to romantic relationships - she doesn’t believe love can be constrained to one gender.
History: Evaine was born in a small house in Melisong Hold and, after the birth of her younger brother Safir, moved out to the outskirts of the hold to help raise herdbeasts with her family. She met her best friend Taliesin when she was six and the two spent summers racing runnerbeasts. They bonded over their mutual love of stupid people and their parents similar situations. Together, they formed a small group of kids who would occasionally slip into Melisong Hold on weekends. Though Teliesin was much more outgoing and friendly with people than she ever was, the two enjoyed each other's company - and no, they never had any romantic attachment to each other. Their gossiping over attractive girls probably helped quell any potential there. She's never been in an attached romantic relationship, though she has had flings when she visits Melisong Hold for festivals and such (both boys and girls!). Her and her brother Safir aren't as close as they could be, partly because of Safir's attachment to his Harper apprenticeship early on. She did teach him how to ride runnerbeasts, though, and he was upset when she was Searched for Rainbow Mists Weyr, as she wouldn't be as close. But she's willing to live with that; she knows he's happy, and she's happy, and that's what matters.
Adoption?: No.
Name: Chatorth (Cha-tor-th)
Color: Black (m)
Adult Size: 30 feet
Dragon Info: Chatorth is very blunt. He will not sugar coat anything unless he gets proper training in the area. If he likes some aspect of someone, he will not be shy in his praise and likewise he has no filter for his criticism. He will often tell his thoughts to whoever will listen in the area, making him seem obnoxious. However, he has a knack for perception, noticing things out of place that few do. If he finds something odd, he will say so, and rarely he will say it for nothing. As he gets older he will become a brilliant choice for watching a hold or searching candidates. His favorite time of day is sunrise, and will always be up to see it. His Mine must take care because if not given instruction this black might just become entirely nocturnal.
Adopted: Yes.
Celebrity Look-alike: Ginnifer Goodwin
"Generally speaking, if you think something you wanna do is wrong… it is. You gotta stay strong."
RP Sample:
Evaine reached down and pulled off her work boots, falling back onto the bed with a light thud. Not only did she had Weyrling training today, but some weird set up with the schedule had her on scrubbing duty in the kitchens. (Had one of the more troublesome Candidates erased their names and put hers on the list? … again? . The Candidate Masters know everybody, but if the Candidates change the name on the list that's handed to the other workers… Oh well. Evaine had never minded hard work.)
Pulling her knee up to her chest, she curled up on the bed, absent mindedly rubbing her one of her feet. "Remind me tomorrow to wear thicker socks for when I have to scrub things. Those weird angles I had to get into today were not great for my feet."
~Do you want me to bite a Candidate for you so they'll stop?~ Chatorth walked over and plopped on the floor next to Evaine's bed, putting his head on the mattress next to Evaine. Evaine let out a small snort and rolled over to look at him. -Chatorth! You can't say things like that!-
~Why not? That'll make them stop, right?~ Chatorth tilted his head to the side, eyes whirling lovingly. ~I just don't want your feet to hurt!~
"You just-you have to be polite." Evaine smiled at the dragon, reaching out a hand and scratching him behind the eye-ridge. The dragonet hummed under his breath and half lowered his eyes, eyes whirling faster. "Okay?"
~You say what you think.~ The dragonet's voice sounded sleepy.
"I try to only think polite things." Chatorth didn't respond, choosing to keep humming under his breath as Evaine scratched his always-itchy, always-stretching skin. Perhaps she'd figure out who kept erasing their name and replacing hers. Or she could just stop showing up to work when it wasn't her job. There was that, too.
