I have no idea what HDR means, but that tree is really colorful and awesome. The top half of the image is definitely my favorite part. Light green and blue sky with clouds. Yay
Um... The drop shadow is not a drop shadow at all. It's handpainted... ^^'; As is the text, actually. I used a template for it, but it's all hand-done. If I could select individual letters and break apart the black part, I could make it line up better, but as is, there is no way to do that at all... I really don't want to take the time to do it because I simply don't have it... But I may try. I see the point you are making. Actually, the idea of the jagged or pointed text works well in a design sense because it is different and stands out more than it would otherwise, which is why I used it. It is, however, a bit of a risk to do that, but as a designer, when it comes to layouts, paintings, and how I use text and things, at least among the community at school, I've become known for kind of taking some risks... ^^';
Oh... ^^'; that's from the painting. I can fix that easily... I just won't right now. X3
It would work, but because the black is all on the same layer, it would select all the letters, and in order to make it work, I have to select each individually, and because it has swirls and such, that could take awhile. I could handpaint my selection, that would be easier... X3 I hate the magic wand tool to know end for some reasons. We refer to it as the "Tragic Wand" in class... ^^'; I like it for starting points with selections then using the quick mask mode in order to make my necessary selection.
In PS it absolutely is worthless, really... Don't know why, just is... ^^'; It's one object, so when it was moved, with the particular type face that I used for my template, it wouldn't move uniformly. I did my best with it. ^^'; But.... Eh... It is fixable, just takes a little while.
