Name: Tiberax Noixay
Pronunciation: Tih-ber-ax No-ix-say
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Turnday: 3040.12.26, or the 34th Turn of the 11th Pass.
Weyr/Location: In the north, often near Icy Caverns Hold or ISW.
Rank: Apprentice Harper and Apprentice Healer, but doesn’t mention those to anyone.
Weyrmate/Spouse: Keeya (36)
Family:
Sons: Taver and Tivax (Twins, 19), Kodax (13)
Daughter: Bunika (16)
Half-brother: Brencis Kalarn
Friends: The fellow members of the group
Pets: None, he believes that all animals must have a working purpose.
Appearance: Ice blond hair and blue-green eyes, taken with his pale skin, mark Tiberax out as belonging to the north. He is often seen dressed in undyed furs, though he prefers thin leather shirts when he is inside near fires. He is not particularly broad of build, being rather lean and lanky, but he is tall, standing around 6’4”.
Personality: Tiberax is, like his half-brother, a determined and belligerent man. He believes that those who live in the north need to return to the traditions that made them strong, and that those who embrace the “new ways” must be forced to submit. He is not inclined to be forgiving, and holds forth that if small offenses are punished severely, than the offender is far less likely to commit other offenses.
History: Tiberax is the child of the former Lord Holder of Icy Caverns Hold and a drudge in that same Hold. The Lord, his father, was quite willing to acknowledge him, but never spent much time with him or bonded closely, finding the young boy too “weak” of build. He was thus raised primarily by his mother and maternal uncle. However, when he was twelve, both his mother and uncle died after getting lost in a snow storm while traveling home from Ice Stone Weyr, where his uncle’s daughter had been a Candidate.
After the deaths of his mother and uncle, he was taken in by the Hold Harper, who saw promise in the boy’s story-telling and drumming, and didn’t want that same talent to be wasted. Tiberax lived with the Harper for four Turns, but by the end of that time he was continually frustrated and so moved out and sought instruction from the Healers.
One Turn into his training with the Healers, when he was 17, Tiberax was informed by a holdgirl that he’d been involved with, that she had just given birth to twin boys. About three months later, he and that same girl were wed.
He studied with the healers for another three Turns, but in reality, he spent most of that time meeting with others in the Hold who held grievances with the Weyr. The Healers found out and dismissed him from their Hall, leaving him with no connections and no way to advance. But he still had a purpose.
It took him and his friends most of the next eight Turns to plan their assault on the Weyr’s reputation, intended to force the Weyr to return to the traditions of old, the traditions of honor, and clear roles. Then they started paying off and intimidating Harpers into spreading the story of how the Weyr grew greedy, and desired to attack the Hold, but this was not enough…
Adoption?: Yes.
