Appearance: Long, raven black hair with rich chocolate brown eyes. She stands at 5'3 and weighs 122 lbs. Idai has milky white skin with a dash of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her hair is often kept up in a ponytail to keep it out of her face. Sometimes she puts a flower in her hair as a change of pace. The only time she ever has her hair down is when she is sleeping or when she is bathing. She keeps it almost the same except for the flower. Extravagance is not something she likes.
Idai's clothes are usually tunics and tan breeches. Idai is a tomboy through and through, at least most of the time. On occasion she will wear feminine clothes, but she finds them hard to move in and are not meant to be worn except for special reasons. Idai's clothes are usually comfortable and light. Heavy clothes tends to drag her down and make her use energy.
Idai makes sure she is well groomed and clean no matter what she had been doing. She rarely appears dirty or filthy and when she does she makes sure to quickly wash up before she does anything else. Dirt is unbecoming of her and makes her seem slow. When she is really clean her skin shows almost like a ghost in dark corners of any place she is at.
Personality: Idai is smart and compassionate. She cares for others and will do what she can to help them. She plans things through before she does them and she can't imagine herself as she had once been as a child. Idai doesn't often show her emotions, but when she does its usually brief. She doesn't believe that emotions should be so close to the surface and tries to keep them hidden except when she is alone or with friends. Despite her seemingly lack of emotions on the outside she is like any other female in existence.
Idai will flirt with a guy if he looks good, presents himself well, and has a good heart. She doesn't like fights and if anyone fights over her she will just turn and walk away. The only time she should fight is when the need is truly great, like life and death. She will defend her friends and her sister at all costs. They are her life and she would feel lost and alone without them.
One thing that saddens her is the fact that her mother died during one of the cold seasons. She often has dreams about them and feels less like a family than she did before. One of her strongest emotions is saved for her father, Deltain. The man disappeared when she and her sister were still young. No one knew where he was and feared him dead. Idai doesn't know if this is true or not, but she vows to find him at all costs to at least know that she and her sister are not alone.
Idai has a tendency to curse whenever something goes wrong. She tries to make sure things go as smoothly as possible so things can continue. However, Idai knows that this doesn't always happen and when things go wrong she calmly keeps her head, besides the cursing. Idai keeps a calm head and knows when things should be done and why. While others argue over something she steps in and helps compromise with them.
It makes her happy when people get along. Fighting tears at her heart and she tries to make the fighting stop. One thing that she isn't is two or three people to help stop multiple fights. All Idai can do is deal with what is in front of her and hope that things go well. She also enjoys reading, writing, and watching Dragons fly through the air.
One thing she wishes for is to hear one for her own. To feel the wind in her hair and on her face is one of her dreams. She feels excited at the prospect of maybe one day being a rider of one of the magnificent creatures. Idai keeps this to herself knowing that she must be prepared for anything. She can't expect something if it doesn't happen. She knows she has the potential, but that's all it is, potential.
History: Idai was born to Laitai and Deltain on the roads. They were solitary travelers and didn't stay at any one place for too long. When Idai was four her father disappeared for unknown reasons. Everyone thought he died or had run off with another woman, but Idai thinks differently. She grew up wanting to find her father for he had been the storyteller of the family. He had told stories of what he had heard growing up of Dragons. Since Idai and her family traveled a lot they often didn't believe anyone who said they had seen a Dragon.
After Idai's father disappeared her mother took her two daughters to the nearest Hold that they had been traveling to, Bendon Hold. There Laitai raised her two daughters up proper while she herself worked for their living. Idai and Talel made friends and learned a lot while at Bendon Hold. Since Talel was a Turn older than Idai it was her responsibility to keep Idai safe from harm. The two sisters grew up learning things around them and whenever fights would break out Idai would step in and try to break them up.
Idai was almost like a gift to the people at Bendon Hold. Since she and her mother and sister arrived there had been less fights and other negative going ons. As Idai grew she began to feel restless. Bendon Hold was starting to not feel like her home anymore. Everyone sensed this and did their best to make her happy. She appreciated their efforts, but nothing could make the feeling she was having go away. The Turns passed and Idai grew to be a very becoming young woman.
At the age of 16 Turns her mother passed away during one of the winter seasons. It seemed that Laitai could not hold on anymore. Now that Laitai was deceased that meant that Idai and her sister could go. So after her mother's funeral Idai and her sister packed and left Bendon. They continued their travels and wandered for a Turn before one day they were found by a traveling Dragonrider. The Dragonrider saw them and landed. He began asking what the girls were doing on their own outside a Weyr or Hold and the girls answered that their mother had died the Turn before.
The Green Dragon then nudged her rider and the rider listened to the unheard voice of the Green. Then the Greenrider told Idai that she had the potential and that she was needed at Rainbow Mists Weyr, but Idai refused as long as her sister could go and maybe be a Drudge.
At first Talel didn't like the idea, but winter was approaching and Talel did not like the idea of spending it alone. The Greenrider agreed and Idai and her sister were safely transported to the Weyr that they had only heard about. Dragons existed! Something inside Idai told her that she was finally where she belonged. She and her sister worked in the Kitchens together, but Idai's chores extended further to other things like changing glows and helping to clean out the herdbeasts pens. She was a Candidate now and she also had lessons to attend to. Idai and her sister have now been at Rainbow Mists Weyr for a couple of months and everything still seems so new to them.
Adoption?: If I am inactive or no longer want her then yes put her up for adoption.
Dragon Preferences: Weeeelllllllll...... I would like a Gold, BUT any color will be fine for her. I really have no preferences really.
