Appearance: Kashpa is a full figured woman, and comes in at a slightly above average 5' 8". Her skin is a rich chocolate color and her eyes are similarly colored. Her hair is dark and curly, and most often she has styled it into a french braid that reaches past her shoulders. Her mouth has a natural crook to it, so when she smiles the right side of her smile reaches a little higher then the other. Her fingers are long and well suited to playing string instruments, making it more obvious why her nails are cut short and she has calluses on her fingertips. She loves flowy clothing, so every chance she has she will be lounging in a dress. She likes wearing practical shoes though, as she finds it easier to make a dramatic step forward in them, if the story calls for it.
Personality: Kashpa is a generally positive person, though she seems fairly subdued when not speaking. When she has free time she can be found listening to a close friend with a crooked smile on her face, and loves to have friends with a sense of humor. She can seem to be loud when she speaks to people, though it is usually the fact that she projects well, rather then having a loud voice. She seems to have a natural confidence in her stride, but it is a learned behavior, from her training as a harper. She loves children and has a mothering quality to her gaze when she is listening to a conflict. She keeps her head well in times of crisis, and has a knack for knowing the right questions to ask if she doesn't know the solution herself. She hates being belittled or talked down to, and is not afraid of saying so. She has a habit of bottling up criticism against her, and if it is something that she can't do anything about it will build into stress. If it is something that she won't do anything about because she thinks the person is wrong, or she has another reason for, she will say so, and she won't take it to heart at all. In that way it makes it really hard to change her ways, or at least the parts of herself that she has a real opinion on. When solving conflicts between people she tries to make people compromise first, before looking at other solutions. She seems mature at level headed around most people but she has a hidden silly side. Around people she really relies on she can act a little childish, and that lets off some steam. She is the kind of person that always needs a challenge, or a higher purpose. She can't stand just going through motions, and if there isn't effort required she will not appreciate it. It means that in some ways she is hard to please, since she feels the same about what other people do. She loves to tease people who she likes, but doesn't always understand when her targets get offended or hurt.
History: Kashpa was born the second of seven children born to Shirinea and Ketanpav at Zaran Sea Hold. Her father was a passionate harper assigned to the hold and her mother worked at the Fisher hall, though looking back Kashpa marveled at how Shirinea balanced everything. From a young age Kashpa was taught to do her share of work, and most of it included taking care of her younger siblings. As a child she understood Pashir the best, as he was the one closest to her in age. What's more, unlike her older sister, they shared the same big dreams of going places and seeing things. So while their parents worked and Netava cooked, Pashir and Kashpa would work together entertaining their younger siblings and convincing them that chores could be fun.
Once Netava was apprenticed to the Fisher Hall Kashpa took on some of her sister's work, though she always took time out to play with her siblings. Both she and Pashir had more of their father's demeanor, rather then Shirinea's quiet practicality. Recognizing this, they jumped at the chance to become harpers as well, though Kashpa had a lack luster singing voice. She envied her brother's young singing voice, and envied it still after his voiced changed and he still sang well. Still, she memorized stories well, and with some training, had a wonderful talent for acting them out in small gestures and with her voice. She learned to play other instruments but the violin was always her favorite.
Kashpa had just finished her apprenticeship and decided to take her adventure some more far off holds, and arranged it to go to Melisong hold to see what adventures awaited her. Pashir was supposed to follow shortly after but it turned out that he got searched for Monacco Bay Weyr and it meant that he had an entirely different adventure to follow.
After some time Kashpa learned that there was going to be a gather commemorating the new road being built between Cliffside sea hold and Rainbow Mists Weyr. She jumped at the chance to go, hoping that she could see how far she had come from her apprenticing days. Stories in mind and violin in hand, she could not wait to see what she can do.
She has done well so far, and kept her home hold at Cliffside. Her mother would prefer she be settled and married, but put that off for a time. And was rather glad for that. When the fires started, she jumped to lend a hand at RMW, most often involved in helping at the creche and keeping spirits high. Eventually she was no longer required, but has kept in close contact with the people there. She is often seen at major hatchings, taking some of the young ones to watch the eggs hatch.
