Shazza Mistborn still appears similar to any other 16-turn-old girl, slim and slender and lovely -- at least, from the waist up. She stands about 5'5" when she straightens up, though good posture is the last thing on her mind. What muscles she had earned over a lifetime of droving cattle has since weakened from misuse, especially the muscles in her legs. Deep, jagged scars trail down her waist and to her calves, a horrible reminder from when the Brown hatchling mauled her. She does her best to keep them covered up as best she can. She has dark skin, suspicious hazel eyes, and dark, curly hair. The rest changes without notice.

Personality:
The impact the mauling she received at Saphireth's Hatching on 13.15 changed her physically and emotionally, of surprise to no one in attendance. There is nothing left of the girl she once was: bright, happy, prone to daydreams. She still works hard at whatever task she puts her mind to (lately is has been physical therapy), but she is now fueled by hurt and anger. Anger at herself, her situation, the boy who took her Brown dragon away from her. She dreams of revenge, but more importantly, she longs to make a name for herself. Her parents disowned her because they thought her useless, but she aims to prove them, and everyone else, wrong.
Still just as sharp of mind, business and otherwise, Shazza prefers solitude and her own thoughts to company. She will also not hesitate to tell anyone bothering her to piss off; whether they listen is another thing entirely.
Her mauling has subsequently left her crippled, though she has been cooperating with many healers and Lifewing Riders to recover any further range of motion in her legs. She's currently able to hobble around the Weyr on her own (with aid of a walking stick), but she tires easily and still has difficulty accessing the lower and upper areas of the Weyr. She talks little and sleeps less, mostly due to the pain in her legs, and always seems to be frowning at someone or thing. It's rare to catch her truly smiling, but she is often seen trying to interact with firelizards and, when she's up at night, the watch-whers.
She still has a deep-rooted grudge against Kh'sol Yorntas, the weyrling who Impressed her Brown. In another place, in another life perhaps, she would have been fast friends with him. Now she only sees him as a tangible source of her pain, and while she would never do anything to harm the Brown dragon at his side, there's no telling what schemes she'll think up against Kh'sol.
History:
Though she greatly prefers to forget her past life at the Hold, Shazza knows she cannot escape it. Once belonging to a hard working droving family at Stormy Plains Beast Hold, Shazza was set to marry the son of a well-to-do family and become the heiress of a large herd and estate. But she disliked her awkward courtship with him, for Marek was her dear friend, and wished for any opportunity to avoid it. He did not seem to mind the arrangement, which made matters even worse in her eyes. So when she heard of an upcoming Hatching, she leapt at the chance. She always had an admiring eye for dragons, and when the opportunity knocked on her door, she knew it was now or never. Her parents relented, knowing there was no stopping their headstrong daughter, and all three attended the Hatching of the DarkBlue dragon, Saphireth.
It was a dark day for everyone, but most of all Shazza.
Her scars bear testament to that ill-fated Hatching. A Brown hatchling (HER hatchling!), which later Impressed to Kh'sol, horribly mauled her legs in its attempt to reach its true Rider. The mauling left Shazza physically and emotionally cripped. Unable to walk or work for many months, her prospective marriage back at Stormy Plains Beast Hold was dissolved. The biggest blow to her pride yet came in the form of her parents. Unable to deal with the disappointment their daughter brought them, they estranged themselves from her to preserve their good name and risk embarrassment in the Hold. They had never supported her choice to become a Rider, and after the accident, they felt it best to cut ties completely.
Shazza has been recouperating in the Weyr ever since that fateful day, and has only just been able to hobble around the Weyr on her own. Out of spite, she has taken the surname Mistborn to reflect her new life in the Weyr. It's uncertain if she will ever truly get her full strength back in her legs, and highly unlikely she will ever become a Rider. But that will not stop her from trying, and she won't rest until she feels her revenge is enacted, and she becomes greater than her parents ever believed she could ever be.
The latest string of fires and famine in the Southern fold of Pern has not left her worrying, however. Even though the looming threats affect the Weyr, the thought of her former family having to deal with the worst animal and crop yield in history brings a smile to her face.
Shazza is currently wavering between Candidate status and a potential life stuck as a worker in the Lower Caverns. She would never belittle or look down upon those who do work in the Caverns -- she's used to hard labor, and appreciates those who do it. Never the less, she refuses to accept any outcome other than standing once more on the Sands, cane or no cane, and showing up everyone who doubted her strength.

Because she will be attending Archith's upcoming Hatching, I figured I'd put this table in just because, though I don't expect or anticipate her to Impress at all! She's the wild card. Do with her what you will!
