Less than a minute passed his song seemingly not receiving any audience other than the few annoyed glances from his human neighbors. Shame. Vieriel couldn’t help but wondering if his tardiness had affected his chances as one by one the dragonets wandered to their chosen partners. The likelihood of partnership slipping through his fingers like stardust.
Still out of habit he finished his tune its familiarity warming the chill of disappointment that seeped into his bones accepting its icy grip as inevitable at this point. Until a comet lit up his vision, dark eyes widening meeting swirling heavenly hues. The final note left unsung breath stolen by the shooting star that had chosen to cross his path. He stood in awe as the new sensations flooded his mind. Senses never felt melting together into one bright light, one shared mind. Two becoming more; like a constellation that danced across the heavens. All at once he was pulled into her orbit as was she to his, revolving each other like a celestial dance.
Was it eons or seconds that passed as he marveled, her voice streaking across his consciousness like falling stars.
[smear:#111233]V’riel, there you are. You won’t keep me waiting any further, will you? I am your Ellatriath. [/smear:#abaa93:0]
[smear:#111233]First food, then everything else.[/smear:#abaa93:0]
Letting out the breath he had been holding with an airy laugh his eyes shone back at the small dragon reaching out to lightly scratch her eye ridges affectionately. “Ahahaha~ I guess I should have just stood over on the girls’ side after all. Sorry for the wait.” His tone danced with his racing pulse soaking in the new sensation with unfiltered curiosity. Love and joy. Expectation and assurance. Pride and purpose. Emotions both his yet not. How curious.
“You found me~”
Ellatriath leaned at his words grateful for the attention and acknowledgment, her bright eyes narrowing in pleasure and satisfaction at her rider’s touch. Finally noticing her trailing wings, she tucked away her starry cloak shifting her stance into an even more dignified pose, an unconscious show of desired respect, small huff puffed out in the process.
[smear:#111233]It is no matter now. Your Ellathriath found you. As long as I am here you will never be lost again. [/smear:#abaa93:0]
Her voice chimed back steady and self-assured. It was neither a proposal or a promise. It was simply a matter of fact. Just as the day would always fade into the night. Just as the stars would always come at night’s beckoning to reveal their splendor. So too would she always shine at his side.
“What a stunning, cleaver girl.” He muttered warmly letting his hand fall, brushing a few last remaining shell shard off her spangled hide.
“Together then?”
[smear:#111233]Yes. Together.[/smear:#abaa93:0]
Ellatriath nodded satisfied by her riders answer finally her gnawing hunger cracking the cool façade she had kept up. [smear:#111233]Come. I am hungry and we have much to do afterwards.[/smear:#abaa93:0] She stood already moving towards the scent of meat with the same purposeful stride she had arrived into this world with.
V'riel chuckled at her mannerisms. His first impression of her orbiting back to the forefront of his mind trailing close behind like a comet’s tail. She truly was an amusing girl. “Sounds good, Ella.”
